All these talks and whatever else that looks like it’s working about Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity yet, AmeriKKKa seems to enjoy disenfranchising, discrediting and demeaning Black and Brown Women, when does it end? Students at a historically Black college in Missouri returned from Christmas break dressed in black, mourning the suicide of a beloved administrator, Dr. Antoinette Candia-Bailey, who experienced bullying and racism by the school’s white president. Meanwhile, Claudine Gay, formerly Harvard University’s first Black female president, resigned due to plagiarism claims. Where’s the space for Black and Brown leadership at these HBCUs or any well known non-profit? Yet, with all of this, some are so determined to star and be part of right wing media and politics. Is this a tale as old as slavery? If you don’t think so, it’s probably because you’ve never been in that situation, right?

On this episode of “Outside is AmeriKKKa” hear our thoughts on some recent happenings in New Haven, from criminalized protesters to a city employee who has been found to have reported marriages to immigration, so grab your favorite snack, let’s unpack this. Not everyone agrees that organizers who came out to demand a Ceasefire should have been held accountable for something they did not do, nor encouraged. And to add salt to the wound, the Mayor of New Haven had no issue a few months back holding an emergency presser to address mishandling at funds within Parks and Rec yet, the Registrar, who was not only privileged enough to be moved around to different departments but also apparently able just ignore the alleged ‘Welcoming City’ Executive Order signed into effect back in July 2020, yet the Mayor not only just now found out but did not see the need to hold a presser for that? Must be nice to have privilege. What does any of this have to do with organizing? What does it have to do with who controls the bag? Tune in and find out.
