Most of us ignore the reality of being Black and Brown and trying to organize in 2023. What’s changed in organizing since the 60s til now? Should we still be wary of the white liberals? Is it okay to organize with the police? Are our movements being targeted and infiltrated, by who and why? What can we do, if anything about any of that? Tokenization, is that a thing?

Tune in as we unpack that and more in this episode of the Sound of Black and Brown, “Tokenization, is that a thing?” The world is upset at the inhumane treatment of Palestinians and should be, there are protests across the globe, droves of people of different races, backgrounds, ages, trades, lives. But yet, some states are yet to get up and stand up, and in some cases where there is something happening, Black and Brown people are somehow still getting tokenized. Is it that we do not value our representation or is it that we are so mentally enslaved, we don’t see it? Is it either, or both, or something else? So many Black and Brown people are turning another face to what is happening in Gaza, the world’s largest prison, yet, there are so many similarities between the diasporas. We will also talk about why it is so important for Black and Brown people to boycott the companies that support IDF. Facism is not only the backbone of war on Palestine it is also the foundation of slavery and oppression.

happened in New Haven, the white saviorism that tried to diminish it and of course you know there had to be Karens and provocateurs. But why is that? And why should Black and Brown advocates and activists monitor the crowd, and manage our events. We will talk about why our representation and presence is so important, why we should know that our events will be marked and discuss if is what is happening in Gaza, really only about Palestine or is the world getting a mirror view of much more about the United States and allegedly progressive states like Connecticut and cities like New Haven? Why haven’t more Black and Brown legislators been vocal about a Ceasefire or said anything about Palestine. We will also be sharing information about an upcoming rally happening tomorrow in New Britain, outside the Greek Orthodox Church at 5pm.

Why is the voice of the Pro Palestine activists and advocates being silenced?  It is important that we highlight that not only we covered the rally earlier, but it was quite diverse, with a lot of Black and Brown people, not white washed and heavily about white people and their issues.
